A supreme court can be defined as a court that is the most powerful in a country, meaning that its decisions in most cases are the final. Once a supreme court decides on a legal matter the rules and regulations have to be adhered to without consulting any other legal body.in some places like England, Wales and New York the Supreme Court has not the final say (Bains 40).
The Supreme Court is very essential in a country for it hears and solves legal cases from the other lower courts in a country, this means that once irregularities are presented to other lower courts in a country and they are unable to agree the cases are finally presented to the Supreme Court which makes the final decision. It has also assisted in ensuring that the laws of a country are equally applied in every decision-making process.
Crisis in Korea
Crisis in Korea can be explained as the threats experienced by the Korean people, which are the North and South Korea regions.
December 12, 2012, is when this crisis started by North Korea after they set a satellite called the Kwangmyŏngsŏng-3 Unit 2 and also in February 2013, they also had a nuclear test. All these alerted the people of the likelihood of fights. North Korea defended itself by saying that the satellite was not a threat but an essential instrument for checking the productivity of crops and forests. This crisis has caused a lot of threats to many countries and the current report is that they have carried out a third nuclear test. Crises as this enable a country to set all security devices and people ready (Bodansky 50).
Tamerlan and Dzhorkhar Tsarnaev
Tamerlane and Dzhokhar are two brothers who are said to have caused the death of three people and 264 others injured after they released a bomb on April 15, 2013.
Investigators from Federal Bureau found them guilty, This made these two brothers cause more havoc by killing a police officer and hijacking a service utility Vehicle. After this Tamerlan died and Dzhokhar was injured and got lost but later on, was found. These people are significant today for they act as an example to other people who might have such evil strategies (McIntosh 60).
The Geneva Conventions
The Geneva conventions are a combination of some four exchange letters and the other three rules that are used to set up quality rules for international law these handles matters that concern wars(Pictet 70).
These agreements dealt with matters to do with the rights of the wounded during wars and also imprisoned during these periods of war.
Personal Journal
Week 1
On my first day of week one, I listened to BBC news about health, the news was reported at 9.00PM, whereby the first case of bird Flu was reported in China and has caused death to about 20% of the people infected. I got to learn that bird flu is caused by viruses from birds and it’s a deadly disease. I also researched on the internet about the anatomy of plants, from these I learned about different aspects of plant anatomy which have been discussed by different scientists. Some of the founders of plant anatomy being Marcello Malpighi and Nehemiah Grew. In the course of this week, I also read Time Magazine where i studied the greenhouse effect which talked about how difficult it is to control its effects because of the increasing rate of carbon concentrations (Sokol 43).
In summary, week one I listened to BBC news, researched about plant anatomy via the internet and read the Times Magazine.in all these I got to learn new things, for example, the founders of plant anatomy and also how dangerous the Bird flu is. This changed my opinion especially about Bird flu, for before the study I thought it’s not a dangerous disease.
Week 2
The second on Monday at around 8.00PM I listened to CNN International news about investments, from this I learned the best investment is of bonds offered by Apples New Block Booster for they have two ways of offering their bonds. In the course of the week, I also read a History book about the evolution of man and the different stages of evolution which to some extent was contrary to what I theologically believed for I believe that man never evolved but was created by God (Haeckel 25). I was also moved to research on the internet about the eruption of mountains, this studied about mount Chile which erupted after such a long period of being active, and it erupted after an earthquake causing ash to be thrown 6 miles away.
This week I learned so many new ideas, for example, the issue of mountain eruption whereby the ash emitted is thrown 6 miles ago and also about the booming bonds business in the world.
Week 3
I listened to Canadian Broadcasting whereby I got to hear a virus called the virus corona, which caused 7 deaths in Saudi Arabia, this virus kills not only people but also animals. I also read a newspaper called Chicago Sun-Times, I learned new paths of entrepreneurship which the people of Illinois have used for example ensuring high profits, new ways of customer service and also new ways to boost their employees.
Week 4
In week four I did thorough research via the internet of some new technologies which will cause a great change in the world; for example Google Glass, Oculus Rift, leap motion, eye tribes, Smartthings (Migliavacca 48). I realized that this new technology will be of great importance to the world .in addition to this I read a book that explained the evolution of money, it described the different ways that money was used as a medium of exchange. Finally, I watched the news on Nation Television whereby they discussed the importance of Electronic money Transfer I learned that money can be electronically transferred from one person to another.
In summary the whole of this fourth week I learned about new technology, evolution, and transfer of money. From my point of view, I thought that money has always been in the form of coins or paper form but after the study, I found other traditional forms of money (Nourigat 40).
